Opportunity Overview

The University of Montpellier gives international students admitted to IDIL master's tracks an automatic scholarship of up to €5,400 over two years. IDIL is a University of Montpellier graduate programme funded under the France 2030 plan. It offers a two-year research master's taught entirely in English, built around work in the university's laboratories on the interdisciplinary theme of feeding, protecting and healing, bringing together biology, ecology, agriculture and health. The scholarship is €3,000 in the first year and €2,400 in the second, paid for the first half of each academic year, and is awarded automatically to every international student admitted to an eligible IDIL master's track who meets the conditions, once administrative registration at the university is complete. Applicants must not hold French nationality and must not have studied at a French higher education institution in the two years before admission; the award cannot be combined with an Eiffel scholarship or other awards that exclude it. The university notes that the scholarship does not cover all living costs, so students need other funds for housing, food and insurance, although M1 and M2 laboratory internships are paid at roughly €620 to €650 a month. There is no separate scholarship deadline: it follows the admission calendar of each master's track.

Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) 2027–2028

Master, Bachelor, PhD

A fully funded scholarship from the Chinese government, administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), for bachelor's, master's and PhD study at Chinese universities. Bachelor's applicants now need a CSCA test score. The portal usually opens in November–December 2026; deadlines are set by each embassy or university and typically fall between late November 2026 and April 2027 (bilateral or embassy routes are often earliest). Bachelor's applicants must sit the CSCA test (December or January sessions) before applying. International airfare is not covered.
