Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

We only collect what we need to provide the service:

• Account data: your name, email address and password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider; we cannot see it), and a profile photo if you upload one.
• Sign in with Google or Apple: we only receive your name and email address, never your account password. With Apple you can choose to hide your real email.
• In-app usage data: the scholarships and universities you bookmark, and your study preferences such as countries, fields of study and academic level.
• AI assistant messages: the text you send to the assistant is transmitted to process it and generate a reply.
• Technical and statistical data on the website via Google Analytics: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location.
• Your language preference is stored only on your device (browser local storage).

2. How we use data

We use data to run your account and sign you in, save your bookmarks and preferences, suggest relevant scholarships, send account emails (such as email confirmation and password reset) and alerts about new scholarships, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal data or share it with anyone for advertising.

3. Service providers

We rely on trusted providers that process data on our behalf and only to provide the service:

• Supabase: database, authentication and image storage.
• Google: Sign in with Google, Google Analytics for statistics, and Google Gemini to generate the AI assistant’s replies.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple.
• Resend: sending account emails.
• Cloudflare: website hosting and protection.

4. Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics uses cookies to measure traffic statistically. You can block them in your browser settings or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and the website will still work.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, the personal data linked to it is deleted, except where we must keep it by law or where it remains temporarily in backups until they are replaced.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and data at any time:

• In the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, profile, bookmarks and preferences.
• Or email us at [email protected] from the address registered to your account, and we will process the request promptly.
• If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can also remove ForsaEdu’s access from your Google or Apple account settings.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access and correct your data, to request its deletion or a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can edit most of your data directly from your profile page, or contact us for any other request.

8. Data protection and security

We use up-to-date security and encryption protocols (SSL/TLS), encrypted identity management through Supabase Auth, and strict Row Level Security rules so that each user can only access their own data.
