Opportunity Overview

The ASA Global Programme lets young people aged 21 to 35 from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeast Europe spend three months in Germany and three in their own country as part of an international team, fully funded. Run by Engagement Global with funding from Germany's development ministry (BMZ), it usually brings a team of four together on a joint development project. In the German phase, flights, accommodation and visa costs are covered, along with a €475 monthly scholarship (€1,425 in total), health, accident and liability insurance and seminar travel; in the home-country phase the allowance ranges from €502 to €900 a month depending on the country's income group and an urban or rural placement. People outside Germany cannot apply online; they are selected by the partner organisations that propose projects and must already be involved with them. Applications for the 2027 cycle open in Germany on 1 December 2026.
