Opportunity Overview

GCUB-Mob gives foreign students from all five continents scholarships for master’s (up to 24 months) and PhD (up to 48 months) study at Brazilian universities that belong to GCUB; dates for the 2027–2028 round have not been announced. The scholarship includes a tuition exemption, a monthly stipend based on Brazilian federal funding standards and free access to the university restaurant and services; it does not cover travel. In the 2026–2027 round the call was published on 19 June 2026 and closed on 6 July 2026 — a very short window — so prepare your documents in advance. Applicants choose up to four programmes at different universities taught in Portuguese, Spanish, English or French, and selection has three stages: document check, evaluation by the host universities, and final ranking by a GCUB committee. Applying is free; students must reach a working level of Portuguese before finishing their studies and return home after graduating. The programme follows the earlier PAEC scholarships run with the Organization of American States.
