Opportunity Overview
PEC-G (Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação) is a programme of the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs that offers free undergraduate places at Brazilian public universities to students from 74 partner countries, including Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Lebanon and Syria. Tuition and enrolment fees are waived, but there is no stipend: students (or their sponsors) pay for travel, housing and living costs, with a guarantee of at least US$300 a month. Portuguese is required (Celpe-Bras); candidates without Portuguese can first take a preparatory Portuguese year in Brazil (PEC-PLE). The 2027 call ran from 31 March to 9 May 2026; the 2028 call is expected around March 2027.
