Opportunity Overview
The ASEAN Scholarship from Singapore's Ministry of Education lets outstanding students from ASEAN countries complete secondary and pre-university education (up to the GCE A-Level) in Singapore schools, entering at Secondary 1, Secondary 3 or Pre-University 1 depending on the country. It covers school fees, hostel accommodation with an annual allowance, a settling-in allowance, return economy airfare, exam fees, and subsidised medical care and accident insurance. It is open only to nationals of Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Applications for 2027 entry closed in early 2026; the 2028 round is expected to open around January 2027.

AustraliaUniversity of Newcastle International Excellence Scholarship 2027
The University of Newcastle (Australia) awards the International Excellence Scholarship automatically to international full-fee-paying students admitted to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme in 2027. It covers 20% of tuition fees each year for the whole programme, and about 500 scholarships are offered. Applicants must meet the published entry requirements and study on campus in Australia (standalone graduate certificates/diplomas, research degrees, online or offshore study and quota-limited programmes are excluded). The amount is stated in the offer letter; no separate application is needed.
