Opportunity Overview
Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term, fully funded scholarships from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for citizens of participating developing countries in Asia, the Pacific and Africa to study full-time at Australian universities. They cover full tuition, return airfare, an establishment allowance, a fortnightly living allowance, Overseas Student Health Cover and academic support. In Africa (master's only), eligible countries include Egypt, Algeria and Morocco, as well as Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia and others. Scholars must leave Australia for at least two years after the award. Applications for 2027 study ran from 1 February to 30 April 2026; the 2028 intake is expected to open in February 2027.

AustraliaUniversity of Newcastle International Excellence Scholarship 2027
The University of Newcastle (Australia) awards the International Excellence Scholarship automatically to international full-fee-paying students admitted to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programme in 2027. It covers 20% of tuition fees each year for the whole programme, and about 500 scholarships are offered.
