Opportunity Overview

Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada uses a single General Entrance Award (GEA) application through which students are considered for hundreds of undergraduate entrance awards. It is open to domestic and international students, although some named awards are restricted by nationality. Values vary from a few thousand Canadian dollars up to CAD 48,000 to 88,000 for specific named awards. The awards are not automatic: students submit the GEA form through the portal, the school sends an official transcript, and financial documents are required where need is assessed. Applicants must be coming directly from high school (or be mature students without transferable post-secondary study), start in the Fall term, and typically hold an 80% average or 26 IB points. The 2027/28 application opened on 1 October 2026 and the deadline is 15 February 2027.
