Opportunity Overview

CorpsAfrica lets young Africans aged 21 or over volunteer for a year in a rural community in their own country, with a living allowance and health insurance, in 11 countries including Morocco. Working on a Peace Corps-style model in Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda, it places each volunteer in a village to help residents identify and carry out small projects. Volunteers receive a monthly living allowance (amount not published), health insurance, travel funds for official activities, a readjustment allowance at the end, training and a certificate, and can then apply for a second year as an Exchange Volunteer. You must be a citizen of the country you serve in, with a university degree or equivalent work experience. Application windows vary by country and are typically between March and June.
