About the scholarship
New ZealandVictoria University of Wellington International Scholarships: NZ$15,000 (Bachelor's) and NZ$10,000 (Master's)
Automatic scholarships, with no separate application, for new international students at Victoria University of Wellington: NZ$15,000 off first-year bachelor's fees and NZ$10,000 for a master's or postgraduate diploma. In August 2025 Victoria University of Wellington (Te Herenga Waka) launched two awards that replace the Tongarewa Scholarship and others: the VUW Undergraduate International Scholarship (NZ$15,000) for first-year bachelor's students, and the VUW Postgraduate International Scholarship (NZ$10,000) for 120-, 180- or 240-point master's degrees or a 120-point postgraduate diploma. The value is a fee credit for one year. You must be a new international student paying full international fees and studying full-time on campus. No scholarship application is needed: eligibility is assessed when you apply for your programme and shown in your Offer of Place, so the deadline is the programme's own closing date. Exchange and study abroad students, government-sponsored students, returning students and New Zealand or Australian citizens and residents are excluded.
