Opportunity Overview
The Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) offers postdoctoral fellowships each year to young researchers of all nationalities and disciplines, for 3 to 12 months of full-time work in one of its divisions: Earth, Environment and Life Sciences; Exact Sciences; Humanities; Social Sciences; the Gender Studies Platform; the Black Sea Program; and ArchaeoSciences. Applications are accepted by e-mail all year round; everything received by 31 July is evaluated by an annual panel in November or December, and contracts start no earlier than 1 January of the following year. Resident fellows receive a tax-free stipend of 4,000 lei a month (about EUR 800), and awards may include one economy return flight for fellows from abroad and up to 4,500 lei for conference participation; an online fellowship with the same stipend also exists. You must be within seven years of your PhD at the time of application and have shown you can work as an independent researcher; priority goes to candidates without a permanent position, and people with a University of Bucharest employment contract or another concurrent fellowship are not eligible.
