About the program
An official five-month paid traineeship in European Commission departments in Brussels and Luxembourg, with about 1,000 trainees a year in two intakes starting in March and October. Trainees receive a living allowance of about €1,538 a month, and travel and visa costs may be reimbursed. It is mainly for EU citizens, with a limited number of places for non-EU nationals in specific departments. Applications for the March 2027 intake closed on 4 September 2026. For the October 2027 intake, applications usually open between mid-March and early April; official dates have not been announced yet.
