About the scholarship program
INSA Lyon (National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon) is a French public engineering school founded in 1957. It is the oldest and largest of the seven schools in the INSA Group and offers a five-year post-baccalaureate engineering programme in nine specialties, as well as master's and doctoral programmes. Each year the institute nominates outstanding international students for the Eiffel Scholarship of Excellence, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for master's and doctoral study in engineering sciences. It includes a monthly allowance, travel tickets and health insurance but does not cover tuition fees, and direct applications to Campus France are not accepted. Students can also access the social aid available in France under its own conditions. Details are on the scholarships and student aid page.

Working while studying
International students may work up to 964 hours a year (about 60% of full time) without prior authorisation; the employer must declare the hiring beforehand. Algerian students have a separate regime that requires a work permit. Study-related internships (stages) are allowed and must be paid if longer than two months. After graduation: holders of a master’s degree or equivalent can get a one-year residence permit to look for a job or start a business (APS), then switch to a work permit once they find a suitable job.
