About the scholarship program

The German Jordanian University (GJU) is a public university founded by Royal Decree in 2005 on the model of German universities of applied sciences. Its main campus is in Mushaqar, Madaba governorate, near Amman, and its architecture school is in Jabal Amman. It offers about 40 bachelor's and master's programmes in engineering, computing, business, architecture, nursing and languages, mostly taught in English. Every bachelor's student learns German and spends a German Year: one study semester at one of 120+ partner universities in Germany, then an internship semester with a German company. GJU is TH Köln's partner in the IWRM MENA master's in integrated water resources management.

Tuition for international students

All non-Jordanian students fall under the International Program, with fees charged per credit hour. GJU's undated (about 2023) fee sheet for international and parallel programmes shows about USD 155–212 per credit hour, or about USD 24,500–51,000 for a full bachelor's depending on the major. On top of this come the German Year fee (about USD 11,989), living costs in Germany (estimated at JOD 8,000–10,000) and a JOD 25 application fee. Check the current schedule with GJU.

Admission for international students

Apply for a bachelor's online through GJU's admissions portal, with a passport copy, school transcript and a Ministry of Education equivalency for Arab or foreign certificates. The minimum average is 70% (80% for engineering), and architecture and design require an entrance exam. Admission dates for 2027–28 are not published.
