Opportunity Overview

Eligibility & Acceptance Criteria

Non-Chinese citizens in good health, with good academic and conduct records and no criminal record.
Generally aged 18–35 (in-service Chinese teachers up to 45; bachelor's applicants usually under 25).
Minimum HSK/HSKK scores depend on the programme, e.g. master's: HSK 5 (210) and HSKK intermediate (60); one-year Chinese language: HSK 3 (210).
Nomination by a recommending institution (e.g. a Confucius Institute, HSK test centre or Chinese embassy education office) and registration on both cis.chinese.cn and the host university portal.
Applicants who received the same one-year or one-semester scholarship in the past three years are not eligible.
