Opportunity Overview
The Czech Ministry of Education (MŠMT) offers government scholarships to students from selected developing countries for a two-year follow-up master's or a 3–4 year doctoral programme at Czech public universities, taught in English (or in Czech for some countries, after a free one-year Czech language course). Scholars pay no tuition and receive a monthly stipend of CZK 16,000 (master's) or CZK 24,960 (doctoral), plus health care like a Czech resident; travel is not covered. In the 2027/2028 call the eligible countries were Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Ethiopia, Gabon, Mauritania, Zambia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Palestine, Guatemala and Honduras. That call closed on 30 September 2026; the next call usually opens in August.

It covers 20% of tuition fees each year for the whole programme, and about 500 scholarships are offered.
