About the scholarship program

Capital University (formerly Helwan University) is an Egyptian public university founded in 1975 in Greater Cairo, with some faculties dating back to the 19th century, such as Applied Arts. It adopted its new name in December 2025. It has about 25 faculties and institutes, covering engineering, commerce, the arts, education, tourism and hotels, science, computing and AI, medicine, pharmacy and law. International students apply through the government's Study in Egypt platform. Fee-paying special programmes include an English-taught section at the Faculty of Commerce and an English Legal Studies programme. Helwan is also the Egyptian partner of the DAAD EPOS-funded INEMA master's with PH Ludwigsburg in Germany.

Tuition for international students

Non-Egyptian students at public universities pay a first-time enrolment fee of about USD 1,500 plus annual fees in US dollars by faculty group (usually about USD 4,500–8,000). We could not find Helwan's published fee table, so check the amount on the Study in Egypt platform before applying. Special programmes charge different fees.

Admission for international students

International students apply only through the Study in Egypt platform: create an account, upload documents, then review, nomination and enrolment. The university may appear there as Helwan University or Capital University. Dates for 2027–28 are not announced yet.
