IRENA Paid Internship Programme in Abu Dhabi

About the program

A paid hands-on internship at the Abu Dhabi headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the intergovernmental organisation with 170 members. It is open to postgraduate or final-year undergraduate students, and to recent graduates if the internship starts within six months of graduation, and usually lasts two to six months. Interns receive a monthly stipend to cover living and accommodation costs, and a round-trip ticket if they live beyond commuting distance. In a 2025 vacancy the stipend was US$1,200 a month plus an accommodation allowance of AED 150 a day; internships may be unpaid if the intern is sponsored by a government or university. Internships in specific divisions are posted on the jobs page at different times, and applications go through IRENA's recruitment platform with a CV and a letter of interest; women and nationals of least developed countries are encouraged to apply.
