HMC Amiri Scholarship Program for Palestinian Doctors 2027–2028 (Paid Residency)

A charity programme funded by a special grant from the Emir of Qatar and run by Hamad Medical Corporation with Qatar Red Crescent and the Palestine Red Crescent Society, training Palestinian doctors resident in the West Bank and Gaza in residency and fellowship programmes in Doha. Residents are HMC employees paid a monthly salary from the signing of their employment contract after arrival; residency programmes last 4 to 7 years, and most are ACGME-I accredited. The 2026–27 round offered 8 seats (4 for Gaza, 4 for the West Bank) in specialties such as internal medicine, anaesthesiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, radiology and general surgery, with fellowship tracks. Requirements: a Palestinian passport or travel document with a valid Palestinian ID; residence in Palestine (Gaza doctors may apply from inside or outside the Strip); graduation within the last six years; a 12-month internship completed by 30 June of the intake year; a pass in one clinical exam (USMLE Step 2 CK, IFOM with 75 for exams from July 2025, or MCCQE1); and a valid English test. The application window for the Amiri category in the 2027–28 intake is 19 January to 6 February 2027 on hamad.smapply.io; seats are posted on 18 January 2027, and selected doctors start on 1 July.
